Michelle Porter enjoys being the new BRACE Advisor. She regards it as the top position within the school. Employing a practical strategy, she aids senior students in crafting personalized exit strategies from Nova High School, ensuring they have both tailored plans and the necessary funds for execution. She proudly identifies as a tech enthusiast and dedicates herself to discovering fresh scholarship avenues, which she eagerly passes on to her students.

My Story
Greetings, I am delighted to offer you a glimpse into my journey marked by service, education, and community engagement. Hollywood, Florida, is not just my place of birth but the foundation upon which my values and aspirations were built.

With pride, I dedicated twenty impactful years of my life to serving in the Army as a Human Resource Assistant and Army Career Counselor. I embraced the responsibility of guiding and supporting fellow Soldiers on their career paths throughout my tenure. This role demanded proficiency in personnel management and highlighted my innate leadership potential. Authentic leadership stems from empathy, resilience, and a commitment to the well-being of those under your guidance.

Education has always been my priority, catalyzing personal and professional growth. I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Post University, delving into the intricacies of law and order. I later obtained a Bachelor of Science Management in Human Resources from the University of Phoenix. My college experience wasn't just about earning degrees and cultivating critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a thirst for knowledge. These qualities have been instrumental in navigating the complexities of both military and civilian life.

My family, comprised of my loving husband, Nicholas, and our four wonderful children—Alexandreja, D'Aja, Jayden, and Jayda —have been my support pillars and a constant source of joy and inspiration. They remind me daily of balance, compassion, and unwavering dedication to those we hold dear.

Beyond my professional and familial roles, I am deeply rooted in my community. As an active member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, I am committed to nurturing spiritual growth and fostering a sense of unity and belonging. Additionally, I find fulfillment in volunteering at Feeding South Florida, where I contribute to efforts to alleviate food insecurity and uplift the lives of those in need.

My journey thus far has been of growth, service, and continuous learning. I am committed to leveraging my experiences and skills to make a positive impact, both within my immediate circles and the broader community.
