Choose Your Application!

SUBMIT ONLY ONE APPLICATION TO EACH SCHOOL! WHEN A SCHOOL OFFERS YOU DIFFERENT APPLICATION OPTIONS, CHOOSE ONE ONLY!

Many colleges and universities let applicants choose their application type. In addition to an institution's own application for admission, the school may also offer choices of different types of applications. If the college/university you are applying to gives you choices, choose the application that you feel most comfortable with. No single type of application will give you an advantage in the application process. â€‹

The Common Application – Instead of their own applications, more than 800 colleges/universities use the Common App. Using just one “common” application, you can enter all your general (or common) information as well as a personal statement/essay once. Some Common App schools also require that you answer college-specific questions and or write “Supplemental Essays”. Read instructions for each school carefully! You be required to pay application fees for each school you apply to, unless you are fee waiver-eligible. Here’s a great Common App tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0KwBIFlmbs&feature=youtu.be

Letters of recommendation through Common App. – Request recommendations through Common App. Recommenders will receive an email with a link to the recommendation site.
