Did you receive an invitation to attend a "free seminar" about college finances, scholarships or financial aid assistance?
Did you receive an invitation telling you you've been "nominated" to attend an expensive Summer Program?
With college admissions, enrichment programs, scholarships and financial aid the best things are usually free or low-cost!
Many of the companies that send you these emails and mailings buy mailing lists and have no clue who you actually are, and while they may be legitimate businesses, they exist to make a profit--from you and your family. More importantly, their services may be unnecessary and they may require that you pay for things that you can get for absolutely free at school or in the community!
